If you have another bank's credit card or selected store card, with an outstanding balance you could transfer this to an Equity credit card for 0% p.a. fixed interest for 12 months. That's like putting your other card's balance into a deep freeze for a whole year.
When making repayments Equity applies your payment to the expenses that might otherwise have attracted interest first; cash advances and purchases before balance transfers.
Any extra payments on top of your interest and transactions will help to melt away that balance transfer, so when the fixed 0% p.a. special offer ends in 12 months you could have less or no balance remaining. Any remaining balance will attract the standard purchase interest rate.
By allocating payments this way you’ll get the full benefit of the 0% p.a. fixed interest rate on the balance transferred for 12 months and it allows you to continue using your Equity credit card for your everyday needs, the standard purchase interest rate and cash advance rate will apply.
